I know, I know, we have only been home for 6 weeks and off we go again. It doesn't take us long to get itchy feet...but in our defence we have worked all through the last 6-7 months without a holiday.
Janice and I have always wanted to get away to Spain for Christmas in the campervan and this is the year we are doing it. We have a nice new van to be tested to the full. The new van even has a new windscreen now. It had a little leak in the top of the screen and last week we took it to Barnsley to have a new one fitted.
Our general plan is to set off next Tuesday (16th Oct), have a couple of nights at Henley on Thames and then cross the Channel on Thursday evening from Portsmouth to St Malo. From there we will meet up with brother David and friend Tim on the way down through France and onward to Spain.
I don't really know what we will do or where we will go. We certainly want a bit of winter sun if possible but understand that the evenings will be dark and the sun won't be cracking the pavement but certainly it should be better weather than winter in Kendal.
As usual I intend to drivel on about anything that takes my fancy and will try and be a little bit informative about places we visit.
The title choice hints at us doing a bit of cycling....of course...but 'vuelta' has several different meanings in Spanish. In addition to its cycling context it can mean round, revolution, spin, return, walk, turn up, loop or lap. So, we hope to drive, cycle and walk round a lap of Spain and see what turns up, hoping we don't go loopy!
Hope you have a merry Christmas. Please keep in touch by blog, email, text or phone. It will be great to hear from you. At least you are saved from the trouble of sending us a Christmas card!

Great to see you've updated your accomodation! Looks classy and comfy. Hope the sunshine comes along for the ride.
